Shane van Gisbergen surprisingly secured pole position for the Open race, and shortly after, 20 All-Stars vied for qualification in NASCAR’s annual exhibition race, facing a challenging two-lap format that encompassed a four-tire pit stop. Despite pit road mishaps by several drivers like Daniel Suarez, Ross Chastain, Chris Buescher, Austin Cindric, and Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski and the No. 6 RFK Racing team excelled, with Keselowski snagging pole position in a remarkable performance, marking a significant turnaround for him this season. Keselowski’s team effort and flawless execution were praised by the driver following his impressive lap, markedly quicker than his competitors. The top ten qualifiers included Christopher Bell, Alex Bowman, Chase Briscoe, William Byron, Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, and Chase Elliott, setting the stage for the following day’s heat races to finalize the main event lineup, with Keselowski set to lead from the front in the All-Star Race. Additionally, the pit crew of the No. 71 Spire Motorsports, despite driver Michael McDowell’s participation in the Open, clinched victory in the Pit Crew Challenge, earning $100,000 and a prestigious trophy for their outstanding performance.
